Jane Sethi – Mindfulness

Mindfulness is about being present to the every day moments of our life, with a kindly and accepting awareness. Being mindful allows for a clearer understanding of how thoughts and emotions can affect our quality of life.

Studies show that we are happier when we are present; and that mindfulness – paying attention to what is happening in the present moment - can significantly improve our well being and help reduce stress and anxiety both in the body and mind.

Benefits of mindfulness include:

  • Improved mood
  • A boost to the immune system
  • Increased relaxation
  • Decreased feeling of overwhelm
  • Increased confidence
  • Increased self compassion

It can also feel like taking time to do something for yourself and feeling more in control, learning how to make choices that support well-being, now and in the future, in good times and when tough days return.

Jane is a mindfulness teacher and is trained in MBSR ( Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction); MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy) and MBCT for Cancer, 8 Week Mindfulness Courses which she teaches on behalf of a breast cancer charity, offering people with cancer a means to bring mindfulness and kindliness into their lives.
